On High Street was designed by the celebrated Dunedin Architect James Louis Salmond. Mr Salmond was trained by Robert Arthur Lawson who has provided Dunedin with many notable architectural landmarks. This house was built for a Dunedin jeweller and watchmaker Mr Arthur John Shaw and was built in 1904. Salmond later joined forces with Lawson and established an architectural firm. After Lawson’s death in 1902, Salmond continued to design prestigious homes throughout Dunedin and many are still prominent throughout the region.Located only minutes away from the city centre, enjoy a stroll to the Octagon or take a drive to visit the many great spots in and around Dunedin.
