Our Contribution to the Environment
We are striving to provide an environmentally consciousness business and we are making a commitment to minimizing our impact and reducing our carbon footprint.
- Our ‘going green’ policy is to continually look for ways to reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink. The following outlines currently what we have implemented.
- Food and garden waste is composted or fed to the worms in our worm farm, this is then used to fertilize the gardens
- We grow our own vegetables on site and purchase organic items were possible
- Our garden includes many native plants
- All windows and external doors are double glazed including insulated ceilings to reduce heat loss in winter
- Over time light globes and electrical appliances will be replaced with new energy saving products
- Hot water is heated through our solar hot water system
- All rooms and living areas use energy efficient heat pumps for heating
- We do not use any chemicals for cleaning, we use Enjo cleaning products which do not use any chemicals whatsoever
- All our linen is washed with chemical free laundry powder, also our soaps and shampoos are chemical free
- We recycle paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and tin
